It is important to the Woodmoor PTSA to impact creating a culture of inclusion and acceptance among students and the greater Woodmoor community.

The Woodmoor PTSA sponsored multiple cultural connection events during the 2023-24 school year to help empower students to understand cultures that they may not be familiar with, build healthy relationships, and make meaningful impact on others.

Diverse learning spaces are safe learning spaces!

Woodmoor’s Natural Leaders put on a fantastic event to help our families learn about & celebrate a traditional a Posada Navideña!  (Posadas are a tradition, celebrated in some parts of Latin America. They are celebrated for 9 days leading to Christmas from December 16 to 24.).

Families had the opportunity to enjoy traditional food, music and fun activities!

At Children's Day, Title 1/LAP teachers will taught families about how to support their student's reading and writing at home. They also provided resources for families to take home with them Topics not covered this year will inform next school year's parent education focus.

There were games, pizza & book giveaways for students!

Families had the opportunity to share their heritage and love for a specific country including crafts, pictures, artifacts, maps, flags, music, recipes, dances, stories/poems.

Students were able to visit country tables in the PODS and explore Woodmoor's online World Museum during the day.

There was also a special assembly with performances!
