Clay Art Class

This class will be conducted online from my studio. The sessions will be hosted by a parent volunteer using a PTSA Zoom link.

If you would like to be the class host, you get 50% off your tuition.

Students will explore various methods of hand building with natural clay. We will sculpt, work with slabs and glaze. We will complete 4 projects during a session. Different projects will be made in each session.

I will provide each student with a kit that includes everything needed to complete the projects at home. Younger students may need help from parents or older siblings.

We will have a designated drop off / pick up location of materials and projects.

Aloha! Instructor David Pollon will teach the kids to play the amazing Ukulele. We will learn a new Ukulele skill in each session (positioning, notes, chords, strums) and we will play songs that are fun to sing and play. No Uke playing experience required! In the second (spring) session we will build on skills learned in our first session. 

For students who do not already have a Ukulele, a limited number (15) of  loaner Ukes are available with a $50 refundable deposit.  

We will use the school as a drop off / pick up location for the loaner ukuleles.

Class description:
Our Little Coders class is an opportunity for young children to develop their computational thinking skills, build their first programs, and have fun with new friends! The curriculum is designed specifically for early readers and takes into account cognitive abilities as well as the attention span typical for ages 5-7. We use age-appropriate online tools, including Lightbot, Kodable, and Scratch to introduce basic coding skills. After the class, students will be able to share their projects with family and friends and continue programming at home with their Coding with Kids Scratch account.

In this session we will explore the symbols of our great country. We will explore such symbols such as our flag, the Bald Eagle and our national flower, the Wild Rose. We will paint our national monuments: Status of Liberty, the White House, Washington Monument and more as time allows.

We will combine techniques of space composition light and shadow, one-point perspective, two-point perspective and creating depth and 3D.
