VP Fundraising Job Description– Responsible for raising funds needed to sustain the annual operating budget.
- Manage all fundraising activities for the PTSA including Fall Fundraiser, Dolphin Dash Fun Run, Dine Out Nights and other community partnerships.
- Research and evaluate new fundraising opportunities.
- Manage fundraising event expenses within allotted budget.
- Order and organize supplies and materials prior to fundraising events.
- Advertise fundraising events with flyers, posters, and announcements for inclusion in the PTSA newsletter.
- Identify and contact vendors as needed for fundraising events.
- Recruit and manage volunteers for set up, clean up and staffing during fundraising events.
- Publish fundraising results to the school community.
- Attend monthly Board of Directors and General Membership meetings.
- Complete approved PTA Training, as required.

Special Education Representative (and Co-Special Education Representative)
- Acts as a representative to school administrators, PTSA, special education teachers and resource specialists at our school site. Works with the PTSA to insure we are inclusive.
- Acts as a specialist for our PTSA communication and outreach to families of students with learning challenges and special needs, including historically underrepresented students.
- Shares with the PTSA their perspective of special education students, or on district/state issues that impact our students with special challenges.
The representative should have a good working knowledge of district and community resources and be able to provide introductions to key personnel at Woodmoor, at the district level, and community partners as needed for our PTSA and the parents we serve. (i.e., telling parents about IEP training, Parents Helping Parents, and pertinent discussion groups)
Natural Leader Representative
- Acts as a representative for our Natural Leaders group at Woodmoor.
- Shares with the PTSA their perspective of the needs of our diverse community and helps PTSA to ensure we are creating events that families want.
Natural Leaders are multi-cultural parents and family members that serve as a bridge between families, community, and school. Natural Leaders represent the diversity of their school communities, honoring their experiences and working to ensure more equity and access for all students.
P.A.C.E Liaison
Acts as the liaison between PTSA and the P.A.C.E choice program at Woodmoor.
Assists P.A.C.E. and PTSA to co-sponsor events at Woodmoor for all students.
Shares information between the two programs that may be pertinent and helpful to ensure the successes of both groups at Woodmoor.
Emergency Preparedness Chair
- Acts an advocate for safe school/preparedness issues and resolutions.
- Establishes an ongoing working relationship with the school emergency coordinators, nurses and principals, school district safety team, and safety agencies within the community.
- Stays informed about safety/preparedness legislation in the local, state, and federal government. Shares information with PTSA.
- Becomes familiar with PTA publications that may be free or available for purchase from the Washington State PTA office in relation to Emergency Preparedness.
Legislative Action
- Attends the annual Legislative Assembly for Washington State PTA and acts as a voting delegate. (in October)
- Provide members with information on current legislative issues including the PTA point of view for effective participation in local, state and national government.
- Helps PTA members understand how the government functions and how members can help promote the interests of children and youth.
- Informs all members of issues pending in the state legislature.
Social Services
- Acts a liaison with Woodmoor administration and Care Services team.
- Arrange ways to help our Woodmoor community, such as food drives, sock drives, gift card drives, etc. • Assist the Executive Committee to coordinate activities on health and wellness including nutrition, nursing services, mental health, parenting, immunization, and comprehensive health education. • Works to ensure that our PTSA is providing parents information from the National PTA Healthy Lifestyles initiative when available.
Communications Editor
- Writes and manages the weekly PTSA newsletter.
- Assists with written communication between PTSA and parents by way of special mailings, requests for item to be sent through ParentVue (with school administration)
- Maintains and updates the digital calendar of events.
- Manages the PTA social media accounts, i.e., Facebook.
- Designs flyers for various PTSA and school events as/if requested.
Website Administrator
- Maintains and updates the PTSA website as needed.
- Works on special projects related to the website, i.e. ticket sales, fundraising, etc.
- Reports analytics to Executive Committee if necessary/requested.
Volunteer Coordinator
- Works with the PTSA president, principal, and teachers to coordinate volunteer assignments at the school to support student successes.
- Collaborates with other PTSA board members, teachers, and administrators to assess and identify how parents/guardians and community members can get more involved at school as volunteers.
- Oversees volunteer recruitment, training and assignments.
- Manages a volunteer list and assures that all volunteers are adequately background checked through the Northshore School District.
- Promotes PTSA goals, membership and activities as a PTSA committee chair and oversees the Classroom Coordinator(s) and/or Room Representative (s).
